QUALITY POLICY AND OBJECTIVES
OF THE DOCTORAL SCHOOL
OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZARAGOZA (EDUZ)
The School, in its pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement, and in accordance with the guidelines of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), recognizes the need to implement and consolidate a culture of quality in its Doctoral Programs and services, based on a clear, public, and accessible quality policy and objectives. Therefore, the EDUZ focuses its activities on developing a culture of quality that guarantees transparency in information, as well as meeting the needs and expectations of all those involved: doctoral students, supervisors and tutors, Doctoral Program coordinators, members of the Administration staff, graduates, employers, and society as a whole.
The continuous improvement strategy is defined by the center's Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS), which involves all stakeholders and has orderly processes and monitoring and self-evaluation mechanisms, including the collection of information and its analysis as a basis for carrying out planned decision-making, focused on improving the quality of theses and the training and learning process centered on the doctoral student.
EDUZ establishes the following basic principles of action, which govern all its activities in matters of quality:
The promotion of excellence, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement with the aim of training highly qualified PhDs capable of responding to social demands, enhancing their employability.
Training to acquire and develop the skills and abilities related to quality research, promoting person-centered learning and attending to the diversity of access, admission and graduation profiles.
Achieving the satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders, a central element of the center's activities.
The development and maintenance of the Internal Quality Assurance System to ensure its efficient operation, and its periodic review for the purpose of optimizing and improving it.
Commitment to the quality of the staff associated with the school and those formed by the different interest groups of the same, promoting continuous training that is appropriate and adapted to the needs of the environment.
Promoting a culture of quality and the involvement of all people, enhancing ethics, fairness and individual values of effort, discipline, commitment, collaboration and continuous learning.
Support for the main agents involved in the quality, innovation and improvement system of Doctoral Programs.
Alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, carrying out dissemination work and gradual inclusion in the center's activities and management.
Communication to stakeholders and, in general, to society about the center's activity through the established dissemination channels.
The School will define its strategic quality objectives in its multi-year plan, and the appropriate actions will be established annually in the Action Plan to achieve them, with corresponding monitoring of their implementation. EDUZ undertakes the review of this Quality Policy annually to verify its validity and, where necessary, make any adjustments deemed appropriate.
The Quality Policy and Objectives document of the Doctoral School of the University of Zaragoza was approved by the EDUZ Quality Committee on December 19, 2025.
