Según se indica en el calendario académico de Doctorado, el plazo para incorporar en SIGMA el plan de investigación y formación personalizada o del informe de seguimiento y de la actualización del documento de actividades (DAD) por parte de los doctorandos y doctorandas finaliza el próximo 10 de mayo.

Continuando con la evaluación del proceso formativo, como tutor/a y/o director/a, y de acuerdo al calendario, tiene de plazo hasta el día 17 de mayo de 2024, inclusive, para emitir su informe.

Como le adelantábamos en un correo anterior, para facilitar este proceso, se ha SIMPLIFICADO LA FORMA DE INFORMAR por parte de tutores y directores.

Para ello, una vez acceda a SIGMA:

1. En la pestaña "Plan de investigación" deberá seleccionar y descargar el documento incorporado por:

   • Doctorandos y doctorandas de nuevo ingreso: Solicitud de evaluación de los planes de investigación y de formación, que incluye el Plan de formación personal que también debe ser evaluado, de acuerdo al RD 576/2023, de 4 de julio.

   • Resto de doctorandos y doctorandas: Solicitud de evaluación anual del informe de seguimiento del plan de investigación.
     Es importante descargarlo puesto que en ese momento la aplicación inserta automáticamente la fecha de descarga, implicando que el doctorando o doctoranda no puede borrar ni realizar modificaciones en el registro ni, por tanto, en el documento informado y posteriormente evaluado por la Comisión Académica.
     Si tiene alguna duda en la realización de este trámite puede consultar el punto 7.1 (pág. 10) del Manual de la aplicación.

2. Para la revisión del DAD, cuando la actividad se haya completado y el doctorando o doctoranda incorpore el justificante de la misma, tiene que elegir la opción de ESTADO “Realizada” y pulsar el botón “Modificar”. La Comisión Académica evaluará sólo las que estén en el estado mencionado.

3. Una vez revisado el Plan de investigación y formación personal o el informe de seguimiento, según el año correspondiente de tutela académica del doctorando o doctoranda, y el DAD, tanto el tutor/a como los directores/as deben emitir su propio informe. Para ello, en la pestaña de "Informes y valoración del director/tutor":

• Si el informe es favorable, SÓLO tiene que marcar la casilla "Positiva", en el curso actual 2023/24. En este caso, de FORMA OPCIONAL, puede incorporar el Informe sobre los planes de investigación y de formación o de seguimiento de los mismos*.

• Si el informe es desfavorable, tiene que marcar la casilla "Negativa", en el curso actual 2023/24. En este caso es OBLIGATORIO incorporar en la plataforma el impreso de Informe sobre los planes de investigación y de formación o de seguimiento de los mismos*, debiendo cumplimentar el apartado Informe justificativo de la valoración otorgada. Esta pestaña y su información no es visible para el doctorando o doctoranda.

* Este impreso se ha actualizado, incorporando la valoración de unos parámetros generales para marcar el grado de consecución de los mismos por parte del doctorando o doctoranda.

La Comisión académica realizará posteriormente la evaluación teniendo en cuenta la valoración hecha por parte de tutores/as y directores/as. Se recuerda que es necesario obtener evaluación positiva por parte de la Comisión Académica para continuar los estudios de doctorado en el programa. Si la evaluación es negativa, el doctorando o doctoranda dispone de seis meses para reelaborar los planes de investigación y formación (primer año) o el informe de seguimiento (segundo año y siguientes). Si la evaluación de los mismos continuase siendo negativa, el doctorando o doctoranda causará baja definitiva en el programa de doctorado.

Evaluation report of directors and tutors | Submission of reports until May 17th

As indicated in the PhD academic calendar, the deadline for incorporating in SIGMA the personalised research and training plan or the follow-up report and the update of the activity document (DAD) by doctoral students ends on 10 May.

Continuing with the evaluation of the training process, as tutor and/or director, and according to the calendar, you have until 17 May 2024, inclusive, to issue your report.

As we mentioned in a previous email, in order to facilitate this process, we have SIMPLIFIED THE FORM OF REPORTING by tutors and directors.

To do so, once you access SIGMA:

1. In the tab ‘Research plan’ you must select and download the document incorporated by:

• New doctoral students: Application for evaluation of the research and training plans, which includes the personal training plan that must also be evaluated, in accordance with RD 576/2023, of 4 July.

• Other doctoral students: Application for the annual evaluation of the research plan monitoring report.
  It is important to download it, as the application automatically inserts the download date at this point, meaning that the doctoral student cannot delete or make any changes to the record or, therefore, to the document reported and subsequently evaluated by the Academic Committee.

  If you have any doubts about how to carry out this procedure, you can consult point 7.1 (page 10) of the application manual.

   

2. For the review of the DAD, when the activity has been completed and the PhD student provides proof of completion, choose the STATUS option ‘Completed’ and click on the ‘Modify’ button. The Academic Committee will only evaluate those that are in the aforementioned status.

3. Once the Personal Research and Training Plan or the monitoring report has been reviewed, depending on the corresponding year of academic supervision of the PhD student, and the DAD, both the tutor and the directors must issue their own report. To do this, in the tab ‘Reports and assessment of the director/tutor’:

• If the report is favourable, you ONLY have to tick the box ‘Positive’, in the current academic year 2023/24. In this case, OPTIONALLY, you can incorporate the Report on the research and training plans or their monitoring*.

• If the report is unfavourable, you have to tick the box ‘Negative’, in the current academic year 2023/24. In this case, it is MANDATORY to include in the platform the Report on research and training plans or their monitoring* form, and you must fill in the section Report justifying the assessment given. This tab and its information is not visible to the doctoral student.

* This form has been updated, incorporating the evaluation of some general parameters to mark the degree of achievement of the same by the doctoral student.

The Academic Committee will subsequently carry out the evaluation, taking into account the assessment made by the tutors and directors. Please note that a positive evaluation by the Academic Committee is required in order to continue doctoral studies in the programme. If the evaluation is negative, the doctoral student has six months to redraft the research and training plans (first year) or the monitoring report (second and subsequent years). If the evaluation is still negative, the doctoral student will be permanently withdrawn from the doctoral programme.
