Summer Course: The Many Faces of Romanesque Art | Uncastillo, July 2–3, 2026

2nd Uncastillo Course on Medieval and Modern Heritage, which this year will be held under the title “The Many Lives of the Romanesque: Adaptations, Repurposing, Historical Interventions, and New Discoveries”.

The course, organized by the Uncastillo Foundation and the Traza Research Group (University of Zaragoza), will take place on July 2 and 3, 2026 in the town of Uncastillo (Zaragoza).

Why participate? Unlike other theoretical courses, this program approaches the Romanesque as a “living organism,” analyzing its transformations up to the present day. The program combines academic sessions with on-site technical visits to key monuments in the Cinco Villas region, such as the churches of Santa María and San Martín in Uncastillo, as well as excursions to Luesia and Biel. Attached is the course brochure with the full program.

Featured speakers: We will feature specialists from prestigious institutions, including:

  • Complutense University of Madrid

  • University of Barcelona

  • University of León

  • Colby College (U.S.)
