General information about PhD Programmes at EDUZ
A doctoral programme is a set of activities leading to the acquisition of the skills and abilities necessary to obtain a doctoral degree. The aim of this programme is to develop the various aspects of the doctoral student's training and to establish the procedures and lines of research for the development of doctoral theses. It will include a range of cross-disciplinary and specific research training activities to be carried out by doctoral students. They must be included in at least one branch of knowledge. The programmes will be carried out at the University of Zaragoza or may be inter-university programmes. The programmes may involve the collaboration, expressed through an agreement, of other public or private, national or foreign organisations, centres, institutions and entities with R&D&I activities. The proposal for doctoral programmes leading to the official doctoral degree shall be strategic and multi-annual and shall be drawn up on the basis of applications submitted to the Doctoral School for consideration and possible inclusion in the general proposal for doctoral studies, which shall be submitted to the Governing Council for approval.
In addition, they must be verified by the Council of Universities and authorised by the corresponding Autonomous Communities, in accordance with current regulations on the organisation of official university education.
The teachers belonging to a doctoral programme must hold a doctorate degree. However, other persons or professionals may collaborate in specific activities by virtue of their relevant qualifications in the corresponding field of knowledge.
