Access to doctoral studies for students with a non-approved foreign degree issued by a country in the European Higher Education Area

Individuals holding a qualification awarded under foreign education systems belonging to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) may be admitted to a PhD programme without the need for recognition of that qualification, provided they can demonstrate a Level 7 on the European Qualifications Framework and following verification that the qualification entitles the holder, in the country of issue, to access PhD studies. The applicant must provide evidence of this.

In these cases no access request will be submitted. It will be sufficient to directly submit an application for admission , and must present, along with the rest of the documentation necessary for admission, the European Diploma Supplement (SET) and, if you do not have it due to having obtained the degree before 2003:

• Level 7 accreditation of the European Qualifications Framework.

• Certification issued by your home university indicating that the degree obtained entitles, in the country where the degree is issued, access to Doctoral Programs (it must be signed by the competent authority of the home university or even the Ministry of Education).

Documents issued in a language other than Spanish or English must be accompanied by their official translation into Spanish .

The granting in this way of access to doctoral studies with a non-approved foreign degree will not imply , in any case, the homologation of the degree held by the interested person, nor its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral studies.
