Quality news: positive evaluation of SIGC

On 14 June 2026, the Doctoral School of the University of Zaragoza (EDUZ) requested that the Quality and Improvement Department of the General Inspectorate of Services initiate the procedure to certify the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SIGC), expressing EDUZ’s willingness to undergo the preliminary audit by the University of Zaragoza. The audit team’s visit to the centre took place on the morning of 16 July 2026, during which interviews were conducted with the management team and representatives of the various stakeholder groups (doctoral programme coordinators, thesis supervisors and directors, doctoral students, graduates and PTGAS).

Last Friday, 11 September, the report on this internal audit regarding the implementation of the SIGC at EDUZ was received. The assessment is considered positive as it meets the majority of the dimensions, criteria and guidelines analysed. Furthermore, the report highlights the strengths of the system’s implementation, as well as the main recommendations and opportunities for improvement, which will be of great use in the current institutional accreditation process.
