Pedro Vicente Maldonado Award for doctoral theses 2026

The call for applications will open on 1 May 2026 and close on 31 May 2026.

The rules and other details are available at the URL below. In short, doctoral students who have defended their thesis after 1 January 2020 and up to 31 December 2025 are eligible to apply. Applicants must meet one of two conditions: a) be a citizen of a PAIGH member country, regardless of the university granting the degree, or b) have graduated from a university with an accredited degree in a member country, regardless of the candidate's nationality. Candidates must prepare a document in the form of a scientific article, which justifies announcing the call well in advance. The poster announcing the call can be viewed at

The list of member countries includes Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, the United States, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
