My 3-Minute PhD UNITA contest
Fourth edition of the scientific communication competition ‘My PhD thesis in 3 minutes’, open to all PhD students from the European Alliance UNITA (10 partner universities).
Your challenge: to present your research in 3 minutes, clearly and attractively, to a non-specialist audience, in English.
Structure of the competition
Step 1: online training and local competition
- Participants will attend 5 hours of online training in April, in small international groups (around 10 doctoral students). Please note that the first online meeting for all doctoral students is scheduled for 31 March at 15:00 CET.
- On 13 May (in person), UNIZAR will select two doctoral students to go through to the final.
Step 2: final training and international competition (in person)
Finalists will participate in a week-long training and final competition at the Università degli Studi di Brescia (UNIBS), Italy, from 29 June to 3 July 2026.
This event will be held as part of a UNITA meeting, which will bring together partners from across the Alliance.
The advanced training will focus on:
Speaking confidently under pressure
Voice control and body language
Stage presence and audience engagement
Interaction with the jury and the audience
This is a great opportunity to strengthen your communication skills, gain international experience and showcase your research.
Only 10 PhD candidates will be selected for the local competition, so don't miss this opportunity!
