Medieval Studies Conference | 26 March 2026
Dear colleagues:
We are pleased to invite you to the Medieval Studies Conference entitled ‘Memory and Presence: The Image of Power’, which will take place on the morning of 26 March in Lecture Theatre B3-2 at the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities.
How was power constructed and legitimised in the Middle Ages? During this conference, we will explore the different ways in which power is represented in the medieval world, paying particular attention to the relationship between memory, image and legitimisation.
The speakers will be Óscar Martín del Canto (Lehman College, City University of New York), Herbert González Zymla (Complutense University of Madrid) and Esther Lupón González (University of Zaragoza).
