Junior Leader Postdoctoral Fellowships
The “la Caixa” Foundation has launched a new call for applications for grants to be awarded in 2027.
This call offers 40 postdoctoral grants to recruit outstanding researchers who wish to continue their research careers in Spain and Portugal, in the disciplines of Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Mathematics.
The Junior Leader Postdoctoral Fellowship programme consists of two distinct categories:
Incoming: 20 postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of all nationalities who have resided in Spain or Portugal for less than 12 months in the last three years, who are offered a three-year employment contract to carry out a research project at centres accredited with the Severo Ochoa or María de Maeztu distinctions, Carlos III Health Institutes, and units assessed as excellent by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
Applications will be accepted until 23 September 2026.
Retaining: 20 postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of all nationalities who have resided in Spain or Portugal for more than 12 months in the last three years, who are offered a 3-year employment contract to carry out a research project at any university or research centre in Spain or Portugal.
