● Explore practical tools, platforms and methodologies for developing citizen science initiatives.

● Learn about success stories and best practices in citizen science in Spain and Europe.

Content and methodologies

Module 1: Introduction to Citizen Science (1 h)

Theory:

● Definition, principles and benefits of citizen science.

● History and evolution of the concept.

● Types and formats of citizen science projects.

● Methodologies across all phases of the research cycle.

● Platforms and technological tools.

● Citizen science in the Spanish and European context: networks, policies and key resources.
 

Module 2: Designing Citizen Science Projects (2 hours)

Theory (0.5 hours):

● Key elements of project design: objectives, stakeholders, methodology, communication and evaluation.

● Data management, ethics, privacy and participation.

● Inclusion, accessibility and sustainability in citizen science.

Practical (1.5 hours):

● Designing a draft project tailored to the discipline of each participant or group.

● Final reflections and key learnings.
