Doctoral Thesis Awards - Teruel Provincial Council Chair in Education and Territory at the University of Zaragoza

Rule 1: Candidate Eligibility:

  • Have submitted the doctoral dissertation during the 2024–2025 or 2025–2026 academic years.
  • Have received a grade of Summa Cum Laude.

Rule 2: Thesis Topic:

The main topic of the thesis will be education in rural areas, focusing on one of the following aspects:

  • Historical and/or legislative.
  • Pedagogical and/or methodological (methodologies, material resources, inclusion, spatial organization, application of ICT…).
  • School-territory-school relationships.
  • Equity and equal opportunity.
  • School-culture relations in rural areas.
  • Teacher training.

Rule 3: Prize Amount

  • A first prize of €1,100 and a runner-up prize of €350 will be awarded.

Rule 4: Application:

  • Applications must be submitted via the following form.
  • A copy of the academic transcript/grade report showing the grade obtained and the date of submission must be attached.
  • The deadline for submitting applications is August 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

Rule 5: Jury and Decision:

  • The selection jury will be composed of the co-directors of the Chair:
    • Dr. Pascual Rubio Terrado.
    • Dr. Estefanía Monforte García.
  • The jury may seek advice from specialists in the field.
  • The decision will be communicated to applicants via email and is final.
  • The award may be declared void if, in the jury’s opinion, no application meets the minimum scientific standards.
  • A public awards ceremony will be held in Teruel on a date to be announced well in advance.
