Debate on the eco-social impact of digital life | 26 February
📱🌍 What impact does our digital life have on the planet and society?
The Sustainability Working Group of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters invites you to the Multi-campus participatory debate on the eco-social impact of digital life, to be held on Thursday, 26 February, with our Faculty as one of the venues for the meeting.
We live connected, but our devices, the cloud and the constant circulation of data involve energy and water consumption, use of resources and emissions. They also influence our social life: hyperconnection, digital dependence, misinformation and privacy. This space proposes to reflect and debate collectively on these challenges.
🔎 Cross-disciplinary activity aimed at students of all degree programmes, teaching and research staff, and technical and administrative staff.
🗣️ The format will be dynamic and participatory, in two phases:
1️⃣ Simultaneous connection between venues via videoconference to listen to specialists, who will answer and discuss the main questions proposed by participants when registering.
2️⃣ Participatory dynamic at each venue to prioritise actions, using the Wooclap application, which the University could promote towards the responsible and sustainable use of devices and data. Moderated by the heads of the mOtivaD@S Network.
📄 The contributions will be used to prepare a report of conclusions that will contribute to the implementation of the Digital Rights Charter and a future guide to good practices in digital sustainability.
🎓 A certificate of attendance or active participation will be issued. For the PTGAS, it may be incorporated as a professional development course (Code 41).
