Conference on Language, Communication, and Gender
The Pandora Association is pleased to invite you to participate in the 1st International Conference of Hispanists on Communication, Discourse Analysis, Society, and Gender.

Location: Faculty of Philology (Seville).
Languages of the conference: Spanish and English.
Format: In-person and asynchronous virtual.
Plenary Sessions: Soledad Padilla Herrada (University of Seville) and Isabel Núñez Vázquez (University of Cádiz).
In light of the importance of technologies and their relationship to communication in general and different types of discourse in particular, this conference aims to analyze the concept of communication from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Thus, we offer various thematic areas related to such relevant topics as communication and gender, the role of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and modes of discourse, and communication from a multicultural perspective.
Suggested thematic areas:
Historical perspective on communication and discourse analysis.
Contemporary perspective on communication and discourse analysis.
Gender in communication and discourse: political, social, and historical motivations.
Communication, technologies, and artificial intelligence. The present and future of interpersonal communication and transhumanism.
Communication, gender, and interculturality.
Communication, Discourse, and Spirituality Today
Communication, Discourse, and Society.
Those interested in participating must submit their extended abstracts (maximum 300 words) by December 31, 2026using the form available on this website (below). Proposals will be reviewed by the scientific committee on a first-come, first-served basis, and results will be communicated by January 31, 2027. The organizers reserve the right to close the submission of registration proposals before the indicated date if the number of submissions exceeds the organization’s capacity.
IMPORTANT: Virtual Format: Traditionally, Pandora Association conferences have adopted a hybrid-synchronous format; however, given that the conference will include both European and American participants—with the resulting time zone differences—it has been decided that the virtual format will be asynchronous. To this end, the presenter will have until April 30, 2027, to upload their presentation to YouTube with the following title: I CIHCADSG- [PRESENTER’S NAME] - [PRESENTATION TITLE]
The video must be accompanied by a brief summary in the description, including keywords, and must not exceed 15 minutes in length. Subsequently, the presenter must send the video link to CIHCADSG@asociacionpandora.com. The organizing committee will verify that the videos meet the requirements and will create a playlist containing all the conference’s virtual presentations. On May 25, 2027, the playlist of presentations will be sent to all participants. Presenters are required to answer questions posed regarding their videos during the conference days (May 26, 27, and 28). These responses will be posted in the comments section of the video itself on the YouTube platform.
Publication:
Selected presentations will be published in one of two formats:
1. A collection published by the international publisher Peter Lang, which is indexed in SCI and classified as Q1.
2. A monograph in the scientific journal Logosfera. Journal of Communication, Pragmalinguistics, and Philology, published by the Pandora Cultural Association.
IMPORTANT: The selection of papers for either of the two publication options will be made by the editors based on the quality and subject matter of the submissions. These editors will have sole discretion in determining the publication route. If the editors do not consider the submitted proposals to be of sufficient quality or if their subject matter is too far removed from the journal’s scope, the conference organizers may reject the proposal for publication.
Presenters are NOT required to publish their papers
