Cecilia Castaño Awards 2026 | until 16 November
The Gender and ICT (GenTIC) research group at the Open University of Catalonia is organising a new edition of the Cecilia Castaño Awards with the aim of promoting gender equality in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) and, more broadly, in science and technology (STEM, an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Since 2022, GenTIC has been organising this competition to recognise research work, in any academic discipline, whose subject matter relates to the study of gender inequalities in science and technology and which contributes relevant knowledge regarding women’s participation in STEM. Eligible for the award are doctoral theses or academic articles based on doctoral thesis findings, as well as Master’s final projects (TFM) or academic articles based on TFM findings.
Entries may be submitted in Catalan, Spanish or English by 16 November 2026.
The entry ranked first as the best doctoral thesis or related academic article will receive a prize of €2,400, and the entry ranked first as the best Master’s final project (TFM) or related academic article will receive a prize of €600.
