Authorization for research stays to earn the International Distinction
Following the approval of the Internal Regulations of the Doctoral School at the University of Zaragoza (Resolution of May 13, 2026, by the Governing Council), several changes will be implemented over time. Among the new provisions to be incorporated, Article 14.3.m establishes that the Academic Committees of the Doctoral Programs are responsible for authorizing the research stays necessary to obtain the International Doctoral Distinction.
Therefore, applications for research stays to obtain the International Doctoral Distinction submitted from now on will be decided by the corresponding Academic Committees.
The new form is available at: https://escueladoctorado.unizar.es/sites/escueladoctorado/files/users/docto/impesos/solestancia_mencion_inter_es.pdf
Doctoral students must have completed one or more stays of at least three months’ duration outside Spain at one or more prestigious higher education institutions or research centers in order to complement and strengthen their research training. If multiple stays are completed, at least one of them must have a minimum duration of one month.
