500th Anniversary of the School of Salamanca | November 12–14, 2026

Five centuries ago, the School of Salamanca addressed fundamental questions regarding justice, law, economics, and human dignity, becoming one of the most influential intellectual movements in European and global thought. Five hundred years later, its legacy continues to provide essential insights for understanding contemporary challenges. Its contributions to international law, human rights, the legitimacy of power, and economic ethics not only marked the beginning of modernity but continue to resonate with current debates in a globalized world.

This conference was created with the aim of revisiting, analyzing, and projecting Salamancan thought from an interdisciplinary perspective, bringing together specialists from various fields of knowledge. Through presentations, roundtables, and discussion forums, the aim is not only to pay tribute to this intellectual tradition but also to renew its relevance and explore its capacity to shed light on the challenges of the present and the future.

Those registered for the conference will be able to attend all of its plenary sessions and will receive a certificate of participation. The deadline for registration is November 10, 2026. Participants may present their papers in person or via videoconference. The deadline for submitting an abstract of the proposed paper is October 30, 2026.

The texts of the papers may be submitted for evaluation in the special issue of the journal CODEX. Yearbook of Historical-Legal Sciences, to be published in issue 13 (2027). In any case, the text of the papers, as well as the final text of the accepted proposals, may alternatively be included as a book chapter in a collective work, to be published by a publisher ranked in the 2018 Scholarly Publishers Indicators for Law.
